WOMEN’S participation in rugby league is at record levels, with a 20 per cent increase in female registrations and a 100 per cent increase in registered coaches. Almost 200 women gathered at the launch of Women in League Round last Tuesday at The Sebel Pier One Sydney. Joining NRL ambassador and former Bulldog Hazem El Masri at the launch, were Bulldogs Junior Rugby League Club members Sam Price, Shauntae Dobbie, Tina Shiels and Shylee Brown (pictured).

NRL Chief Executive Dave Smith said women made an enormous contribution to the game.

“This is not a once-a-year marketing exercise, this is about recognising what women do across our game all year, every year,” Mr Smith said.
